Susan Harrison

**Susan Harrison (1939-1995)** was a British actress remembered for her brief but intense film career in the 1950s.

Among her most significant roles was Carol Reed's bittersweet drama *A Kid for Two Farthings* (1955), in which she played a young girl in a lively London neighborhood. However, it was in Alexander Mackendrick's noir film *Sweet Smell of Success* (1957) that she gave her most celebrated performance, playing Susan Hunsecker, the vulnerable and manipulated sister of a powerful Broadway journalist.

Her acting style was characterized by a naturalness and fragility that suited innocent characters or those who were often victims of circumstance. Her presence on screen, though delicate, was incisive. Despite her brief filmography, her contribution to these films makes her a memorable face of cinema in that decade.
