Tempe Pigott (1883-1962) was a British character actress, known for her prolific film career in Hollywood's Golden Age. Specializing in roles as elderly women, mothers, innkeepers, or housekeepers, she often imbued her characters with remarkable dignity and authenticity, even in minor parts. Her expressive face and reassuring presence made her a recognizable figure.

Among her most significant performances was that of Maggie, the mother of the protagonist Gypo Nolan, in John Ford's drama *The Informer* (1935), a role that allowed her to showcase her dramatic ability. She also had a memorable, albeit brief, role in another Ford classic, *Stagecoach* (1939), where she portrayed the wise Mrs. Pickett.
