**Tore Svennberg (1863-1941)** was a Swedish actor, a prominent figure in silent cinema and the early sound era. He was known for portraying roles of elderly men, patriarchal or authoritative figures, often wise or tormented, with a measured yet intense acting style.

His most celebrated performance was that of David Holm in Victor Sjöström's *The Phantom Carriage* (*Körkarlen*, 1921), a masterpiece of Swedish expressionist cinema. He frequently collaborated with Sjöström and Mauritz Stiller. Among his other important films are *Sons of Ingmar* (*Ingmarsönerna*, 1919) and *The Saga of Gösta Berling* (*Gösta Berlings saga*, 1924), both directed by Stiller. His screen presence helped define the Golden Age of Swedish cinema.
