Victor Buono

Victor Buono (1938-1982) was an American film and television actor. Known for his imposing figure and deep, resonant voice, he specialized in playing antagonists, sinister characters, eccentrics, or authoritarian and corrupt figures. His screen presence was often commanding and menacing.

He gained significant recognition and an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor for his unsettling performance in *What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?* (1962), alongside Bette Davis and Joan Crawford. He reunited with Robert Aldrich in *Hush...Hush, Sweet Charlotte* (1964).

He also appeared in films such as *Seven Days in May* (1964), *Beneath the Planet of the Apes* (1970), and *High Plains Drifter* (1973). Buono was adept at imbuing his characters with a blend of intelligence and perfidy, making them memorable and often iconic.
