**Alfonso Cuarón** (Mexico City, 1961) is an acclaimed Mexican director, screenwriter, and producer. Recognized for his versatility and visual innovation, his filmography spans diverse genres.

After works in the United States such as *A Little Princess*, he gained international recognition with *Y Tu Mamá También* (2001), an intimate and provocative road movie. He demonstrated his adaptability by directing *Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban* (2004).

His distinctive style, characterized by breathtaking long takes and deep emotional immersion, is evident in *Children of Men* (2006), a dystopian sci-fi thriller, and in the technical triumph *Gravity* (2013), for which he won the Academy Award for Best Director. He replicated this success with *Roma* (2018), a semi-autobiographical black-and-white ode to his childhood, which earned him two more Academy Awards (Best Director, Best Cinematography) and Best Foreign Language Film.
