David Lynch
**David Lynch** (born in 1946) is an influential American director, screenwriter, producer, and visual artist, celebrated for his distinctive and often enigmatic style, dubbed "Lynchian."
His film career, steeped in surrealism and symbolism, includes the cult debut **Eraserhead** (1977) and the more conventional, yet acclaimed, **The Elephant Man** (1980). Lynch then consolidated his stylistic universe with **Blue Velvet** (1986) and the renowned television series **Twin Peaks** (1990-91), exploring the darkness hidden beneath the surface of small-town America.
Among his most acclaimed masterpieces are also the labyrinthine and dreamlike **Mulholland Drive** (2001) and **Lost Highway** (1997). His style is characterized by unsettling atmospheres, non-linear narratives, dreamlike elements, and a profound exploration of the human psyche and the unconscious, often through a masterful use of sound and imagery.
