Luc Dardenne

**Luc Dardenne** (b. 1954) is a Belgian film director, known for his fruitful artistic collaboration with his brother Jean-Pierre Dardenne. Together, they form one of the most acclaimed duos in contemporary cinema, having been awarded two Palmes d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival: for *Rosetta* (1999) and *L'Enfant - Una storia d'amore* (2005).

Their style is characterized by a neorealist and deeply humanist approach. They often use handheld cameras, natural light, and non-professional actors to create a raw and authentic immersion into the social reality of their characters.

Other significant films include *Le Silence de Lorna* (2008), *Deux jours, une nuit* (2014) with Marion Cotillard, and *Tori et Lokita* (2022). Recurring themes include the dignity of labor, precarity, integration, and the complex moral choices faced by individuals on the fringes of society.
