**Marc Caro** (1956) is a French film director, illustrator, and art director. He is primarily known for his collaboration with Jean-Pierre Jeunet, with whom he co-directed some of the most iconic films of contemporary French cinema.

Their artistic partnership produced *Delicatessen* (1991), a critically acclaimed dystopian black comedy, and *La Cité des Enfants Perdus* (1995), an ambitious dark fable with international scope. These films are emblematic of their unique style, characterized by a rich and complex visual aesthetic, dystopian or steampunk worlds, and an atmosphere blending the macabre, the grotesque, and the fantastic.

Following his artistic separation from Jeunet, Caro continued his solo career, directing films such as *Dante 01* (2008), solidifying his reputation as a visionary auteur with a predilection for peculiar imagery and detailed production design.
