Mark Sandrich (1900-1945) was an influential American film director whose career is inextricably linked to the golden age of RKO musicals. He is celebrated for directing five of the iconic Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers musicals, among which masterpieces like *Top Hat* (1935), *Follow the Fleet* (1936), and *Shall We Dance* (1937) stand out.
