Terry Jones

**Terry Jones** (1942-2020) was a director, screenwriter, actor, and founding member of the legendary British comedy group Monty Python. He is primarily recognized as the principal director of their most celebrated films.

He co-directed *Monty Python and the Holy Grail* (1975) with Terry Gilliam, but was the sole director of *Life of Brian* (1979) and *Monty Python's The Meaning of Life* (1983). His style was characterized by absurd humor, social satire, and historical parody, often with a surreal touch and deep reflection.

Outside of Python, he directed works such as *Erik the Viking* (1989) and *Absolutely Anything* (2015), his last film. As an actor, he is known for portraying numerous female characters and eccentric figures in Python films.
