Thomas Vinterberg
**Thomas Vinterberg** (born 1969) is a Danish film director, screenwriter, and producer, a central figure in contemporary Scandinavian cinema. He is universally known for being one of the co-founders of the Dogme 95 movement, which promoted a minimalist and authentic approach to filmmaking.
His most celebrated film from that period is **Festen** (The Celebration, 1998), which garnered immense international critical acclaim and perfectly embodied the principles of the Dogme manifesto.
Subsequently, Vinterberg has explored intense and socially relevant dramas, while maintaining an incisive directorial style. Among his most important works are **Jagten** (The Hunt, 2012), a raw analysis of collective paranoia, and **Druk** (Another Round, 2020), a film that received widespread praise and won the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film.
His style is characterized by a profound exploration of the complexity of human nature, moral dilemmas, and social dynamics, often with a tendency towards raw realism and vulnerable characters or characters in crisis.
