**Wilfred Jackson (1904-1988)** was an influential American director and animator, a key figure in the early development of Walt Disney Animation Studios. He is celebrated for his pioneering contributions, particularly in the synchronization of sound in animated cartoons, as evident in *Steamboat Willie* (1928), where he co-directed.

Jackson directed numerous short films in the *Silly Symphonies* series and played a fundamental role in directing some of Disney's most iconic feature films. Among his most important works are *Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs* (1937), where he served as supervising director, and memorable segments of *Fantasia* (1940), such as "Night on Bald Mountain" and "The Sorcerer's Apprentice."
