Brian Corcoran
Brian Corcoran, born on 23 March 1973, is a former Irish hurler, widely regarded as one of the greatest and most versatile players in the sport. He spent his entire career with the Erin's Own club and the Cork county team. His career is notable for unfolding in two distinct and exceptionally successful phases. In the first part, playing as a defender (corner-back), he won two Hurler of the Year awards in 1992 and 1999 and an All-Ireland championship in 1999, before retiring in 2001. He returned to playing in 2004, reinventing himself as a forward (full-forward), and was instrumental in Cork's two consecutive All-Ireland titles in 2004 and 2005. His honours include three All-Ireland titles, six Munster provincial championships, and three All-Star awards, won in both defence and attack—a rare feat that testifies to his extraordinary versatility.
