Clarence Burton (May 10, 1882 – December 2, 1933) was an American actor, active predominantly during the silent film era. His career began on the vaudeville stage before he transitioned to film in 1913, where he soon became a prolific and recognizable character actor, specializing in antagonistic roles. He is closely associated with director Cecil B. DeMille, with whom he collaborated on numerous successful films. His most significant performances include those in *Male and Female* (1919), *The Squaw Man* (1918), and, most notably, his dual role in the original version of *The Ten Commandments* (1923). Although he did not receive formal awards, his recognition stemmed from his consistent presence in high-profile productions and his ability to bring credible and memorable negative characters to life, solidifying his reputation as one of the most effective "villains" of his time.
