
Gail Patrick
Gail Patrick, born Margaret LaVelle Fitzpatrick, was an American actress and television producer. Active primarily in the 1930s and 1940s, she appeared in over sixty films, often specializing in roles as the sophisticated antagonist or rival, as seen in the notable films *My Man Godfrey* (1936), *Stage Door* (1937), and *My Favorite Wife* (1940). After her retirement from acting in 1948, she began a second and successful career, becoming one of Hollywood's first and most influential female producers. She is best remembered for being the executive producer, along with her husband Cornwell Jackson, of the acclaimed television series *Perry Mason* (1957-1966), a critical and popular success that earned her an Emmy Award in 1958. For her fundamental contribution to the television industry, she was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
