Paul Le Person

Paul Le Person (1931-2005) was a French actor and an emblematic figure of 20th-century cinema and theater. Recognized as one of the most prolific and acclaimed supporting actors, he began his career on stage, notably with Jean Vilar's prestigious Théâtre National Populaire, before establishing himself in cinema from the 1960s. His filmography includes collaborations with leading directors such as Yves Robert in *Alexandre le bienheureux* (1968), Bertrand Tavernier in *The Clockmaker of St. Paul* (1974), and Luis Buñuel in *The Phantom of Liberty* (1974), for which he received a César Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor. His face became known to international audiences thanks to his role as the assistant Perrache in the spy comedy *The Tall Blond Man with One Black Shoe* (1972). Also active in television, Le Person portrayed with versatility characters who were often gruff or melancholic, becoming a familiar and indispensable presence in the French artistic landscape for over forty years.
