Simone Paris, pseudonym of Simone Delanire (Bordeaux, 10 September 1923 – Rome, 17 March 1985), was a French-born naturalized Italian actress. Establishing herself as one of the most prolific and recognizable character actresses of post-war Italian cinema, she became an iconic face, especially in the Commedia all'italiana genre. Her career was marked by collaborations with the leading directors of the period, including Mario Monicelli, Dino Risi, Ettore Scola, and Federico Fellini. Her most celebrated and memorable performances include the role of the cook Marisa in the masterpiece *I soliti ignoti* (1958) and the voluptuous tobacconist in *Amarcord* (1973). Specializing in roles of energetic, pragmatic, and often sharp-witted working-class women, she made an essential contribution to dozens of films. Although she did not receive major individual awards, her recognition lies in the fundamental role she played in award-winning and acclaimed works, consolidating her status as an indispensable supporting actress in the history of Italian cinema.
