Takeshi Kaneshiro, a Japanese-Taiwanese actor and singer, is one of the most iconic figures in contemporary Asian cinema. He began his career as a pop idol in Taiwan before achieving international fame as an actor, largely thanks to his collaborations with director Wong Kar-wai on cult films such as *Chungking Express* (1994) and *Fallen Angels* (1995).
