Duke Johnson is an American director, screenwriter, and producer, known primarily for his work in stop-motion animation. His career gained widespread recognition for directing the special episode "Abed's Uncontrollable Christmas" (2010) of the TV series *Community*, for which he won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Individual Achievement in Animation. His most critically acclaimed project is the feature film *Anomalisa* (2015), co-directed with acclaimed screenwriter Charlie Kaufman. The film, celebrated for its emotional depth and innovative technique, received an Academy Award nomination for Best Animated Feature Film and won the Grand Jury Prize at the 72nd Venice International Film Festival. Johnson is also the co-founder of the animation studio Starburns Industries, through which he has produced several works, including the Adult Swim series *Moral Orel* and *Mary Shelley's Frankenhole*. His work is recognized for its ability to explore complex human themes through the meticulous technique of stop-motion animation.
