Bruce Bennett
Bruce Bennett (born Herman Brix) was an American actor also known for his athletic career, having won an Olympic silver medal in shot put.
He began his film career playing Tarzan in films such as *The New Adventures of Tarzan* (1935). Subsequently, he changed his name to Bruce Bennett for more varied roles. He became a reliable character actor, specializing in robust, upright, and often authoritarian characters. He portrayed lawmen, military figures, or supporting male roles.
Among his most memorable roles are Cody in *The Treasure of the Sierra Madre* (1948), Albert Pierce in *Mildred Pierce* (1945), and Bob in *Dark Passage* (1947). Bennett was distinguished by his solid presence and measured acting.
