
Carl Gottlieb
Carl Gottlieb (born in New York in 1938) is a versatile American film artist, known as an actor, screenwriter, and director.
As an actor, his most recognizable role is that of Mr. Meadows, the school teacher, in the classic *Jaws* (1975). He also co-wrote *Jaws*, significantly contributing to the definition of the characters and the tone of the film, and later wrote the sequels *Jaws 2* and *Jaws 3-D*.
His comedic skill is evident in films like *The Jerk* (1979), which he wrote for Steve Martin. He also directed and starred in the prehistoric comedy *Caveman* (1981) and the satire *Amazon Women on the Moon* (1987).
