**Douglas Dick (1920-2020)** was an American film and television actor whose career peaked in the late 1940s and early 1950s.

He is primarily remembered for his key role in Alfred Hitchcock's psychological thriller, *Rope* (1948), where he played Kenneth Lawrence, one of the friends present at the fateful dinner, who becomes increasingly disturbed by the events.

Dick was often cast in roles as honest young characters, sometimes naive or morally ambiguous, capable of expressing a subtle intensity. Among his other notable films are *The Boy with Green Hair* (1948), where he plays the instructor who helps the protagonist, and the drama about racism, *Home of the Brave* (1949). After his golden years on the big screen, he continued to work in television and dedicated himself to writing.
