Emil Hass
**Emil Hass-Christensen** (1903-1960) was a Danish actor primarily known for his extensive film career, particularly in Swedish productions. He is best remembered for his collaborations with director Ingmar Bergman.
Among his most iconic roles are the cynical Dr. Vergerus in *The Magician* (Ansiktet, 1958), the devout father Tore in *The Virgin Spring* (Jungfrukällan, 1960), and the elderly lawyer Fredrik Egerman in *Smiles of a Summer Night* (Sommarnattens leende, 1955).
Hass-Christensen excelled at portraying authoritarian figures, often intellectuals or patriarchs, capable of expressing profound complexity and inner conflicts with understated intensity. His screen presence and his ability to imbue his characters with dignity and ambiguity made him a memorable figure in Scandinavian cinema.
