Eszter Balint (Budapest, 1966) is a Hungarian-American actress, celebrated for her distinctive presence in independent cinema. She gained international recognition for her role as Eva in Jim Jarmusch's cult film *Stranger Than Paradise* (1984), a performance that made her an icon of 1980s indie cinema thanks to her understated and charismatic acting.
She also appeared in *Desperately Seeking Susan* (1985) alongside Madonna and in other independent projects. Her acting style is characterized by a naturalness and subtle intensity, often embodying young, enigmatic, and independent characters, with an intrinsic melancholy and an aura of nonconformist coolness.
