Farley Granger (San Jose, California, July 1, 1925 – New York, March 27, 2011) was an American actor.

Known for his handsome appearance and for portraying tormented or morally ambiguous young men, his career took off with Alfred Hitchcock. He starred in two masterpieces by the master: *Nodo alla gola* (Rope, 1948) and *L'altro uomo* (Strangers on a Train, 1951), where he embodied characters often involved in moral dilemmas or at the heart of intricate thriller plots.

He also distinguished himself in Nicholas Ray's *La donna del bandito* (They Live by Night, 1949). Subsequently, in Italy, he shone in Luchino Visconti's historical drama *Senso* (1954), a more mature role that confirmed his versatility. His filmography demonstrates a predilection for complex and psychologically layered roles.
