Georges Flamant
**Georges Flamant (1903-1990)** was a French actor, whose film career primarily unfolded in the 1930s. He is inextricably linked to the role of Jean, the sailor protagonist in Jean Vigo's *L'Atalante* (1934), considered a masterpiece of French cinema.
In this and other films, Flamant distinguished himself by his ability to embody youthful characters, often from working-class or proletarian backgrounds. His style was characterized by a raw naturalness and an intense screen presence, which allowed him to convey both determination and a subtle vulnerability. Among his other works are *Le grand jeu* (1934) and *La Kermesse héroïque* (1935), where he continued to explore resolute but complex male figures.
Although his filmography is not as extensive as that of other stars, his face and his performance in *L'Atalante* remain iconic in film history.
