Iaia Forte
Iaia Forte (Naples, 1962) is a prominent Italian actress, known for her intense stage presence in both theater and cinema. Her film career is deeply linked to Mario Martone, who directed her in works such as *Death of a Neapolitan Mathematician* (1992) and *The Verifier* (1995).
She gained widespread recognition and a David di Donatello nomination for her portrayal of Delia in *L'amore molesto* (1995), also by Martone, a role that marked her breakthrough. She has also worked with Ferzan Ozpetek (*Mine vaganti*, 2010) and Daniele Luchetti.
Forte is appreciated for her ability to embody complex, often enigmatic female characters with a profound inner life and a subtle vein of melancholy or irony. Her measured and powerful acting makes her one of the most distinctive performers in Italian cinema.
