**Iemasa Kayumi** (1932–2014) was a renowned Japanese actor and voice actor whose “film career” was largely defined by his iconic vocal presence in animated films and dubbing.

Characterized by a deep, authoritative, and often sinister voice, Kayumi specialized in roles as powerful figures, enigmatic mentors, or calculating antagonists. Among his most famous performances in animated films are Kurotowa in *Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind* (1984), Keel Lorenz in *Neon Genesis Evangelion: The End of Evangelion* (1997), and Void in the *Berserk* film series.

He also left an indelible mark as a voice actor for foreign actors, lending his voice to iconic characters such as Obi-Wan Kenobi (Alec Guinness) in *Star Wars* and Saruman (Christopher Lee) in *The Lord of the Rings* trilogy. His unmistakable vocal timbre made him a central figure in the Japanese dubbing scene.
