Jean Harlow

Jean Harlow (1911-1937) was an American film icon of the 1930s. Nicknamed the "Platinum Blonde" for her distinctive hair, she rose to prominence in 1930 with Howard Hughes's *Hell's Angels*, quickly becoming MGM's leading sex symbol.

Her typical roles were vivacious, uninhibited, and witty women, often concealing a certain vulnerability behind a tough façade. Harlow excelled at portraying sharp-witted femme fatales.

She shone alongside Clark Gable in several successful films, including the celebrated *Red Dust* (1932) and *China Seas* (1935). Other masterpieces include *Platinum Blonde* (1931), which cemented her image, and the ensemble classic *Dinner at Eight* (1933).

Her career was cut short by her premature death at just 26, leaving a lasting legacy as a Hollywood legend.
