**Joan Chandler (1923-2010)** was an American actress, primarily known for her performances in two iconic films: Alfred Hitchcock's *Rope* (1948) and Joseph L. Mankiewicz's *All About Eve* (1950).
In *Rope*, she played Janet Walker, the victim's fiancée, finding herself at the center of a tense psychological drama. Her most famous role is arguably that of Karen Richards in *All About Eve*, the loyal friend initially unaware of Eve Harrington's machinations. She also appeared in the acclaimed *The Caine Mutiny* (1954).
