Joaquín Martínez

**Joaquín Martínez** (1930-2012) was a prolific Spanish actor, known primarily for his extensive career in genre cinema, particularly spaghetti westerns and horror films.

With his imposing stature and distinctive features, he often played roles as tough characters, bandits, henchmen, or authoritarian and menacing figures, becoming a recognizable face in numerous productions. His screen presence was often synonymous with antagonism or a character with a dark past.

Among his most significant appearances are iconic Spaghetti Western films such as Sergio Leone's *The Good, the Bad and the Ugly* (1966), where he played a memorable "Mexican," and classics like *Navajo Joe* (1966), *A Pistol for Ringo* (1965), and *The Great Silence* (1968). Martínez helped define the face of many supporting characters in popular Italian cinema of the 1960s and 1970s.
