John C. Reilly (born May 24, 1965) is an American actor and comedian, celebrated for his remarkable versatility.

He began his film career with intense dramatic roles in films by Paul Thomas Anderson (such as *Hard Eight*, *Boogie Nights*, and *Magnolia*) and Martin Scorsese (*Gangs of New York*, *The Aviator*).
