Marianne Aminoff

**Marianne Aminoff (1909-1984)** was a Swedish actress and a prominent figure in national cinema and theater for over fifty years.

Her film career was rich and varied, but she is best remembered for her elegance and ability to play sophisticated women, often veiled in melancholy or with a subtle emotional complexity.

She worked with the greatest Swedish directors of the time, distinguishing herself in several productions by Ingmar Bergman. Among her most memorable roles was the one in Alf Sjöberg's Hets (Torment, 1944), written by Bergman, where she demonstrated great dramatic intensity. She also appeared in Bergman's films “Skepp till Indialand” (Ship to India, 1947), ‘Sommarlek’ (Summer Interlude, 1951) and, in an unforgettable cameo, “Smultronstället” (Wild Strawberries, 1957), in the role of Isak Borg's wife. Her refined presence and the depth of her characters made her an icon of Swedish cinema.
