**Feldman, Marty** (London, 1934 – Mexico City, 1982)

Marty Feldman was a British actor, comedian, and screenwriter, celebrated for his distinctive appearance, particularly his bulging eyes, which became a key element of his comedic style. After a successful career in British television, his international fame exploded thanks to his collaboration with director Mel Brooks.

Feldman became an iconic face of American comedic cinema, especially for his unforgettable role as Igor in *Young Frankenstein* (1974), where his physical comedy, surreal lines, and impeccable timing made him an absolute icon. He also starred in *Silent Movie* (1976) and directed and starred in *The Adventure of Sherlock Holmes' Smarter Brother* (1975).

His characters were often eccentric, with an air of innocent madness, combining nonsense with subtle wit. Feldman was a master of physical comedy and in bringing memorable and slightly unsettling figures to life. His career was tragically cut short by his death during the filming of *Yellowbeard* (1983).
