
Matthew Modine
Modine, Matthew (born in Loma Linda, California, on March 22, 1959) is an American actor, known for his film career which began in the 1980s. He rose to fame playing intense and reflective roles, often as a young protagonist.
Among his most celebrated performances are that of the tormented soldier J.J. 'Birdy' in Alan Parker's eponymous film (1984) and the journalist Joker in Stanley Kubrick's war masterpiece, *Full Metal Jacket* (1987), a role that cemented his international standing. He also appeared in films such as *Vision Quest* (1985), *Married to the Mob* (1988), and *Pacific Heights* (1990).
After a less prolific period on the big screen, he regained visibility with the role of Dr. Martin Brenner in the popular TV series *Stranger Things*, demonstrating his versatility and longevity.
