Maximilian Schell (1930-2014) was an Austrian-born, naturalized Swiss actor and director, and one of the most acclaimed performers in international cinema.
He is primarily remembered for his intense film career, which culminated in the Best Actor Oscar in 1962 for his masterful portrayal of defense attorney Hans Rolfe in *Judgment at Nuremberg*.
