Nastassja Kinski (Berlin, 1961), a German actress of Polish descent and daughter of actor Klaus Kinski, became one of the cinematic icons of the 1980s.

Her career took off early. Her breakthrough role was in Roman Polanski's *Tess* (1979), which earned her a Golden Globe for Best New Star of the Year – Actress. Her ethereal beauty and dramatic intensity made her a muse for prominent directors. She distinguished herself in Paul Schrader's *Cat People* (1982), where she embodied a mysterious and fatal sensuality, and in Wim Wenders's *Paris, Texas* (1984), delivering a poignant and unforgettable performance.
