**Nick Dennis (1904-1980)** was a Greek-American character actor, known for his roles as rugged characters, often of ethnic origin (Greek, Italian, or Middle Eastern), working-class men, loyal friends, or ambiguous figures.

With his husky voice and sturdy, intense appearance, he made his mark in several iconic films. Among his most memorable performances are Pablo Gonzales in *A Streetcar Named Desire* (1951), Gus Smog, the mechanic in *Kiss Me Deadly* (1955), Rantani in *East of Eden* (1955), and Rusty Menzies in *Touch of Evil* (1958).
