**Omero Antonutti (1935-2019)** was an Italian actor of great depth and intensity. Trained in theatre, he achieved international recognition in cinema, particularly thanks to his role as the severe patriarch Gavino Ledda in the Taviani brothers' **_Padre Padrone_** (1977), which won the Palme d'Or at Cannes.
His collaboration with the Tavianis continued in masterpieces such as **_The Night of the Shooting Stars_** (1982) and **_Kaos_** (1984), where he often embodied paternal or authoritarian figures endowed with austere dignity.
