
Peter Fonda
**Peter Fonda (1940-2019)** was an American actor, director, and screenwriter, son of the legendary Henry Fonda and brother of Jane Fonda. He became a counterculture icon of the 1960s, embodying the rebellious spirit of an entire generation.
His most celebrated performance was that of Wyatt "Captain America" in **Easy Rider** (1969), a landmark film of "New Hollywood" which he co-wrote and produced. This role cemented his status as the face of nonconformist characters, often on a journey and in search of individual freedom.
Subsequently, Fonda continued to work in various genres, earning a critically acclaimed Academy Award nomination for Best Actor for his intense performance in **Ulee's Gold** (1997), demonstrating remarkable versatility in a dramatic role very different from his early work.
