Rinaldo Smordoni

**Rinaldo Smordoni (Rome, 1937 – 1999) was an Italian actor known primarily for his intense, albeit brief, career as a child film actor.**

His most iconic role was that of Mario in Luchino Visconti's neorealist film *Bellissima* (1951). Alongside Anna Magnani, Smordoni delivers an authentic and moving performance, portraying an aspiring child actor, a symbol of exploited innocence in the entertainment world. In the same year, he also appeared in Mario Monicelli and Steno's *Guardie e ladri* (1951), alongside Totò, solidifying his image as a child actor of great natural talent.

Smordoni stood out for his spontaneity and ability to embody naive characters, often from humble backgrounds, with surprising credibility. Despite his initial success, his acting career did not continue long into adulthood, remaining a symbol of the youthful talent of Italian Neorealism.
