Spencer Tracy
Spencer Tracy (1900-1967) was one of the most celebrated and respected actors in American cinema, known for his naturalistic, restrained, and deeply authentic style. He excelled at portraying ordinary men, yet endowed with great integrity, intelligence, and a certain moral fortitude, often in roles as lawyers, priests, or leaders.
Tracy is the only actor to have won two consecutive Academy Awards for Best Actor, for *Captains Courageous* (1937) and *Boys Town* (1938). His career is also inextricably linked to his on-screen partnership with Katharine Hepburn, with whom he made nine iconic films, including *Woman of the Year*, *Adam's Rib*, and his last, *Guess Who's Coming to Dinner*. Other memorable performances include *Inherit the Wind* and *Judgment at Nuremberg*.
