Sue Lyon (1946-2019) was an American actress, best known for her iconic role as Dolores "Lolita" Haze in Stanley Kubrick's controversial film *Lolita* (1962). Her portrayal of a very young and seductive nymphet, chosen from thousands of candidates, earned her a Golden Globe for New Star of the Year – Actress.

Following her success with Kubrick, she starred in John Huston's *The Night of the Iguana* (1964), where she portrayed another young and desirable woman. Her career, though brief in terms of prominence, was marked by characters embodying a precocious sensuality or a complex youthful vulnerability. She appeared in a few other films, such as John Ford's *7 Women* (1966), before gradually withdrawing from acting.
