Toni Servillo
**Toni Servillo** (born in Afragola, 1959) is one of the most celebrated contemporary Italian actors. Born on the stage, his film career is inextricably linked to Paolo Sorrentino.
With Sorrentino, he has given memorable performances, from Titta Di Girolamo in *The Consequences of Love* (2004) to Giulio Andreotti in *Il Divo* (2008), to the iconic Jep Gambardella in *The Great Beauty* (2013), a role that brought him international fame. He then played Silvio Berlusconi in *Loro* (2018).
His other notable roles include those in Matteo Garrone's *Gomorra* (2008) and, more recently, Mario Martone's *Nostalgia* (2022). Servillo is appreciated for his ability to embody complex characters, often powerful figures or disillusioned intellectuals, with measured but intense acting characterized by elegance, ambiguity, and deep introspection.
