**Vladislav Dvorzhetsky (1939-1978)** was a Soviet actor whose brief but intense film career flourished in the early 1970s. Known for his penetrating gaze and magnetic presence, he often portrayed complex, intellectual, and morally ambiguous characters, or those with a tragic destiny.
Among his most celebrated roles are Henri Berton in Andrei Tarkovsky's *Solaris* (1972), the explorer Il'in in *The Land of Sannikov* (1973), and the enigmatic Captain Nemo in *Captain Nemo* (1975). Dvorzhetsky excelled at bringing to life figures of great psychological depth, often heroic or anti-heroic, which made him an icon of Soviet cinema.
