Franco Fabrizi
**Franco Fabrizi** (1916-1995) was an Italian actor best known for his prolific film career and his collaboration with Federico Fellini.
His most iconic role was Fausto in Fellini's *I Vitelloni* (1953), which established him as the archetypal provincial young seducer, charming but lazy and disillusioned. Fabrizi also played similar characters – the elegant handsome man, sometimes cynical or superficial – for directors such as Luchino Visconti (*Bellissima*, 1951) and Michelangelo Antonioni (*Il grido*, 1957).
In subsequent years, he continued to work extensively, often in supporting roles that added depth. Fellini cast him again in *Roma* (1972) and *Ginger e Fred* (1986), a testament to his lasting impact on Italian cinema. His screen presence was characterized by an innate elegance and a subtle melancholy, making him a distinctive figure of post-war Italian cinema.
