Franco Interlenghi

**Franco Interlenghi (Rome, 1931 – Rome, 2010)** was an Italian actor, the true face of Neorealism and of Italian post-war youth.

He made his debut very young in Vittorio De Sica's Neorealist masterpiece, *Shoeshine* (1946), playing the iconic role of Pasquale, a street shoeshiner. His career was also marked by prestigious collaborations, including one with Federico Fellini in *I Vitelloni* (1953), where he brought to life the restless Moraldo, a symbol of provincial youth without prospects.

Interlenghi excelled at embodying characters of naive but often disillusioned young men, with a natural acting style that made him an emblem of an era. He also worked with directors such as Michelangelo Antonioni (*I vinti*, 1953), Roberto Rossellini, and Antonio Pietrangeli, maintaining a constant presence in Italian cinema and later on television.
