Ingrid Bergman

Ingrid Bergman (1915-1982) was one of Hollywood's most iconic Swedish actresses, celebrated for her natural beauty, intense acting, and great versatility.

She became an international star with her unforgettable performance in "Casablanca" (1942). She won her first Oscar for "Gaslight" (1944) and shone in several Alfred Hitchcock psychological thrillers, including "Spellbound" (1945) and "Notorious" (1946).

Her artistic and personal partnership with Roberto Rossellini, which began with "Stromboli" (1950), caused a stir but led her to explore neorealist roles. She returned to triumph in Hollywood, winning a second Oscar for "Anastasia" (1956).

Bergman was known for portraying strong, principled, and morally complex women, often torn between passion and duty. Her last major performance was in Ingmar Bergman's "Autumn Sonata" (1978), where she once again displayed profound dramatic intensity.
