**Yvonne Furneaux** (1926-2024) was a British actress primarily active during the 1950s and 1960s. Known for her intense and often tormented performances in European cinema, particularly Italian, she achieved international fame with iconic roles in works by prominent directors.

She is unforgettable as Emma, Marcello's anguished fiancée, in Federico Fellini's *La Dolce Vita* (1960), a role that cemented her place in the collective imagination. She also worked with Michelangelo Antonioni in *Il grido* (1957) and *Le amiche* (1955), where she often embodied enigmatic, sophisticated women or those in existential crisis.

Her versatility also led her to appear in genre films, such as Hammer Film Productions' horror *The Mummy* (1959) and Roman Polanski's psychological thriller *Repulsion* (1965), where she played the main character's sister.
