Federico Fellini

**Federico Fellini (1920-1993)** was an iconic Italian director whose work redefined world cinema. Born from neorealism, he forged a distinctive style, known as "Felliniesque," characterized by dreamlike, baroque, and often autobiographical elements.

His films are imbued with fantasy, melancholy, and a carnival or circus-like atmosphere, populated by eccentric and grotesque characters. They explore themes such as memory, dreams, the relationship between reality and illusion, and post-war Italian society.

Among his most celebrated works are: **La Strada** (1954), **Nights of Cabiria** (1957), the renowned **La Dolce Vita** (1960), **8½** (1963) – a meta-cinematic masterpiece about creative crisis – and **Amarcord** (1973). Fellini won four Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film and an Academy Honorary Award, leaving an unparalleled cinematic legacy.
